Some kids are obsessed with tv, some are obsessed with baseball (Jack Davis!), some are obsessed with cars...and mine is obsessed with the Marine Corps. Every day he puts on this hat. This hat is actually a hard hat that the guys at the granite place gave him when we got our counter tops...but, to him it is a Marine hat. Then he puts on these gloves (please don't tell him that I threw them away yesterday because they were filthy). After these two items he puts on a pair of red flip-flops, then adorns himself with anything else he sees that he needs on his "uniform"...these items include: a canteen, a drumstick, a drum, a "grabber nabber" which becomes his sword or rifle that each Marine at the barracks carries. It's pretty intense. The rest of the day is spent being a Marine and marching around throwing the "weapon" into the air like the Silent Drill Platoon.
The only problem with this whole scenario is that Clay has started to view himself as Clif's equal. He told me yesterday that our family had two men in it and they were both MY bosses. I quickly informed him that he was absolutely not my boss and that God was my first boss and then Daddy...but, not my son!

oh my gosh, that made me laugh so hard. but he couldn't pick a more admirable role model!
I love to hear that Clay likes to pretend so much ... It makes me feel better about our little .. puppy, kitty, monkey ... did I mention puppy ? Ellie pretends to be some kind of animal everyday, several times a day ... it's a little crazy sometimes :)
